How We Use Cookies
This page sets out every cookie we set on realcasino-au.com, what each one does, how long it stays on your device, and how you can switch any of it off. We keep the wording plain on purpose.
What Cookies Actually Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your device when you visit it. It carries a label and a value, nothing more. Your browser hands that file back to us on each return visit, which is how we recognise you without asking you to log in again.
Session cookies vanish the moment you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay put for a set number of days and then delete themselves. We also use local storage and pixels, which work on the same principle, and everything on this page covers those too.
The Four Cookie Groups
Strictly necessary cookies run the site. Without them there is no login session, no security check and no way to keep your account locked to you. We never ask for consent on these, because refusing them breaks the site. Look for names such as PHPSESSID, rc_auth and rc_csrf.
Functional cookies remember your choices. They store your language setting (we support English, Deutsch, Español and Français), your preferred currency among AUD, BTC, ETH and USDT, and whether you have dismissed our responsible gaming reminders. Typical names: rc_lang, rc_cur, rc_prefs.
Analytics cookies count, in aggregate, how pages perform. They tell us which games get opened, where people drop off during sign-up and how long a session runs. We read the numbers in lumped form; we do not use them to build a profile of you as an individual. Example names: _ga, _gid, rc_stat.
Marketing cookies power retargeting. If you viewed a promotion and left without claiming it, these cookies let our ad partner show you that same offer elsewhere. They only fire with your consent, and you can pull that consent at any time. Example names: rc_utm, _fbp, rc_adid.
| Cookie type | Purpose | Duration | Opt-out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sessions, login, fraud checks | Session | Not possible |
| Functional | Language, currency, preferences | 90 days | Via banner |
| Analytics | Aggregated site usage | 30 days | Via banner or browser |
| Marketing | Retargeting, campaign tracking | 365 days | Via banner or browser |
Cookies Others Place
Some cookies on our pages do not come from us. We allow three categories of third-party setter: analytics providers who measure our traffic, ad networks who run the retargeting we just described, and payment providers such as your card issuer or e-wallet, who need their own short-lived cookie to complete a deposit of 2 AUD or more securely.
Each third party gets access only to the data it needs for its own job. We do not hand over your account balance, your game history or your KYC documents. Their cookies are governed by their own policies, linked from our consent banner, and the non-essential ones sit behind your opt-in.
Change Your Settings Anytime
On our site
When you first arrive, our banner offers Accept all, Reject non-essential or a granular panel with a switch per category. Your choice sticks. To revisit it later, click the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of any page or email [email protected] and we will change it for you.
In your browser
Every major browser can block or delete cookies, and the exact wording differs slightly between them. Blocking works per site, so you can stop ours while leaving your email provider untouched.
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies, then Blocked.
- Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data, then Remove.
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Delete cookie data.
- Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Block cookies.
What blocking costs you
Refuse strictly necessary cookies and the site stops working: no login, no deposits, no play. Refuse functional cookies and you reselect your language and currency every visit. Refuse analytics or marketing cookies and everything still works, you just see less relevant offers and we lose the usage data we use to fix weak pages.
How Long Each Lasts
Session cookies survive until you close your browser, full stop. Persistent cookies carry an expiry date, and we list ours below. When a cookie reaches its expiry it deletes itself; nothing keeps growing in the background. Clearing your browser data removes every persistent cookie immediately, whatever its scheduled end date.
| Category | Lifetime |
|---|---|
| Session and security | Until you close the browser |
| Language and preferences | 90 days |
| Analytics counters | 30 days, renewed on each visit |
| Marketing and retargeting | 365 days, or until you withdraw consent |
| Payment provider cookies | Session, or up to 7 days for fraud screening |
When We Change This Policy
If a new cookie category appears, or a retention period moves, we update this page and push a notice onto the site for 30 days. Changes that add a new non-essential cookie category also reset the consent banner, so you get a fresh choice rather than a silent opt-in. Material changes go out by email to every verified account holder. This page was last reviewed in 2026; our licence, MGA/B2C/394/2017, holds us to that standard.
Questions about any cookie listed here go to [email protected]. Our live chat runs 24/7 and answers cookie queries like any other account matter.
Frequently asked questions
Do cookies slow my device down?
No. Each cookie is a few hundred bytes of plain text. Even a few hundred of them total under a megabyte.
Can I play at Real Casino with all cookies blocked?
No. Strictly necessary cookies carry your login session, so blocking them logs you out instantly. Blocking only analytics and marketing cookies is fine.
Do you sell the data cookies collect?
No. We use analytics data in aggregate to improve the site, and we never trade it. Marketing partners receive only what retargeting requires.
If I delete cookies, is my account gone?
No. Your account, balance and history live on our servers, not on your device. You simply log in again after clearing cookies.
Does the consent banner reappear every visit?
Only if you rejected non-essential cookies or cleared the consent cookie itself. Accepted preferences persist for 365 days.
